Oh man, I never expected to finish this more or less in one day. Time ended up being somewhere around 20 hours, but I left it open several times without actually working on it.
As I said on the lines, this is Minwu* from Final Fantasy II. He's an experienced white mage who babysits your party in the first part of the game, the first temporary character you get. He's pretty handy--keeps your guys alive while you're learning the game, but isn't grossly overpowered. For references, I went from the game sprites and one bit of character art by Amano, so I ended up taking quite a few liberties with his design. Also tried to make this one a little more dynamic than my usual portraits, so hopefully that's working OK. *I've also seen it as Ming-Wu, but I'm going by what the Dawn of Souls (GBA) version calls him.
